POAS (on a stick) - the pregnancy test is held in urine stream, typically for 5, or more, seconds (check your instructions - each test varies slightly).

PIAC (in a cup) - First, urine sample is collected in clean container; Then test's tip is dipped into it, for several seconds, per test's instructions (each test varies slightly).

Most of today's top brand home pregnancy tests are extremely convenient and can be used either as POAS or PIAC.
