Use Hair Length Unit to indicate if you want to calculate in inches or centimeters. Once set, enter growth rate and starting hair length in your selected length unit.
Hair Growing Time is the amount of time you want to calculate hair growth. That is, how much will hair grow in this amount of time, based on your growth rate. Hair grows approximately a half inch (1.27cm) in a month, but may grow more quickly or slowly for you or the person for whom you are calculating. If you know the growth rate, enter it; otherwise, enter .5 if calculating in inches, or 1.27 if calculating centimeters.
Trim Amount is an optional field. If used, also specify Trim Time - Every. This field can be used to indicate how much you tend to trim your hair, even when growing out. For instance, you might get a 1/4 inch (0.25) trim monthly to keep the ends healthy. The trim amount should be less than the Growth Rate for the equivalent growth time, unless your goal is shorter hair at the end of the time period. Growth rate is based on per month; the calculator converts your trim time unit to a per month basis.
Starting Hair Length is optional. If used, the hair growth calculator will determine hair length at the end of the growing time by adding growth to the starting length, and subtracting out trimmed length if provided.
