Time of Day to Test

Is First Morning Urine needed?
When testing early, before your expected period, first morning urine is recommended. Otherwise, you can test at any time of day. You can use the test at any time of day from the day you expect your period to start.

* Most brand pregnancy tests provide information similar to the following when indicating that the test is 99% accurate if used on the day of expected period or later: "99% accurate at detecting the pregnancy hormone. However, some pregnant women may not have detectable amounts of pregnancy hormone in their urine on the first day of the missed period or may have miscalculated the first day of their period."

POAS (on a stick) - the pregnancy test is held in urine stream, typically for 5, or more, seconds (check your instructions - each test varies slightly).

PIAC (in a cup) - First, urine sample is collected in clean container; Then test's tip is dipped into it, for several seconds, per test's instructions (each test varies slightly).

Most of today's top brand home pregnancy tests are extremely convenient and can be used either as POAS or PIAC.
